Rethinking the ending of Kuch Kuch Hota Hain

Few Bollywood movies have stayed in our hearts the way Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) has. Directed by Karan Johar, the film gave us love, friendship, heartbreak, and iconic dialogues like “Pyaar dosti hai.” But while the movie is loved by many, I always felt that the ending could have been different — more real, more fair, and more respectful to the relationships it showed. The Original Ending In the original story, Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) are best friends in college. Anjali secretly loves Rahul, but Rahul falls for Tina (Rani Mukerji) and marries her. After Tina’s death, she leaves behind letters for her daughter (also named Anjali), guiding her to reunite her father with his old friend Anjali. Years later, Anjali is engaged to Aman (Salman Khan), but through a series of events, she and Rahul meet again. Success is inspiration, while failure is always a lesson.

D o we learn more from success or failure? A simple short answer would be- we learn MORE from failure. But that's not enough. It's actually a proper balance of what we get to learn from failures, and success. ____________________________________________________ Let me breakdown my perspective on learning from success , because we mostly overlook on how we learn so much while experiencing success, than just being happy.  Maybe it doesn't apply to everyone, maybe too much of success makes one egoistic, overconfident, and makes them take their fortune for granted. But for me, if I achieve something as and how I ever wanted or desired (which is termed as success), I see it as the beginning of something big, not like it's the peak of the mountain. I see each success as a beginning of something better to be achieved, it's never the end, it's a mark of things I've already learnt and the search of things that are still unknown to me.
